Letting the Divine In
There are times when I want to connect to the Divine, to feel Spirit more fully with me, and I don't really know how. I pray, I chant a mantra, I try to see the good in others, or I clean up my house (God would be pleased with that, yes?). I try to be a very good citizen. I meditate on my breath, do more yoga. Whatever I can think of to further my spiritual growth.
And then I relax and remember: oh yeah, I just need to let It in.
Spirit is more abundant than the air we breathe, and I know that when I relax and inhale deeply, I receive plenty. So it is with the Divine.
The idea is letting go so that you can let it in. Stop trying so hard, forcing it, trying to "do" what you think will make it happen. It's not that you shouldn't do anything; instead, allow the doing to be done through you, by Spirit, rather than struggling and forcing.
Sit down for a moment, relax, and allow. As you drive to work, let go and let it in. As you're washing the dishes, soften your jaw, drop your shoulders, and breathe Spirit in.
This month, you have an opportunity to join a group that explores this - allowing something Greater than us to flow through us. I have one space open for the Monday afternoon Sacred Journey Women's Psychotherapy Group and 3 spaces available every other Thursday evening. This is a special moment to take your personal and spiritual growth to a deeper level, in an intimate and supportive group. Contact me to explore this possibility.
You'll find my blog, below, continuing on the theme of letting the Divine in - by embracing the Great Mystery of Spirit to start off the new year. That is followed up by this month's Meditation and Inspiration with the same theme: Ring in the Great Mystery! Join me Tuesday evening, January 14th, from 9-9:30pm Pacific time.
And if you'd like to explore more of yoga philosophy in depth, come to the 8 Limbs of Yoga workshop this Saturday at Mind-Body Zone in Fremont. We'll delve into Chapter 2 of the Yoga Sutras, and discover the causes of suffering, the way to freedom, and the 8 aspects of classical yoga practice.
The Divine is already here, right now - let It in.

Ring in the Great Mystery
I know you’ve made goals and resolutions. You’re thinking about a fresh start, because it’s the new year. Most of us have a long list in mind of what we want to have, create, and achieve after January 1st.
But sometimes, it helps to let go of all that planning, resolving, manifesting, and goal setting. The truth is that All That Is arises from the Ineffable – the Great Mystery.

This Month's Show:
Tuesday, January 14th, 9-9:30pm Pacific / 12 midnight Eastern / 5am GMT / 4pm Wed. Jan 15th Sydney
You may have made some new year's resolutions, or set some goals for the year. But have you tapped into the Source yet?
The Divine is the Great Mystery - the Emptiness, or Void out of which all that exists manifests. It is the Tao, the nothing that holds the everything.
I will offer a bit of inspiration to tap you into that spacious nothingness, and then you'll be led through a semi-guided meditation to open to receive it. It's a powerful way to begin the new year!
Last Month's Show:
Join Rev. Connie with her special guest Anaiis Salles, beekeeper activist and energy healer, to explore the inspiring and fascinating lives of bees. Learn about "Tasting Beauty, Discovering Wisdom" and how caring for and listening to the bees teaches us to become better human “Bee-ings”. Get involved – find out about the threats to the European honeybee and how you can help save this vital foundation of our human food system. We’ll take your calls live, too!
Anaiis Salles, energy healer, transformation facilitator, ordained minister, inventor and initially very reluctant beekeeper shares how an unexpected and evolving relationship with honey bees opened into a channel of insights of loving self-care and profoundly grounding creative experiences that you, too, can access. For Anaiis, being a hive steward at Green Sanctuary Community Apiary is every bit as rewarding and inspiring as working through clients' most difficult life challenges. Honey bees, those marvelous intelligent creatures that are the invisible foundation of our human food system, are on the verge of extinction. Anaiis is determined to save the European honey bee through education, advocacy and conservation. You can learn more at http://pricelesshoneybees.weebly.com/interview-with-connie-habash.html or at Anaiis’ beekeeping website: http://www.slowbeekeeping.org

We long for it.
We can return to it."
